He has given the Canadian premières of a number of important works from the modern cello repertoire including Ne songe plus à fuir for cello solo by Richard Barrett, Gavin Bryars' cello concerto The North Shore, Herz for cello solo by Enno Poppe, and Advaya for cello and live electronics by Jonathan Harvey. In January 2006 he was guest performer with the German ensemble musikFabrik for a series of concerts at the Ultraschall Festival in Berlin, and has performed regularly with the Ensemble Alternance in Paris.<u1:p> </u1:p>
The bulk of Mr.Prynn’s activities focus on his piano trio, the Trio Fibonacci, which is recognised as one of the only piano trios that can perform cutting edge contemporary music alongside masterpieces of earlier eras with equal brilliance. Indeed in its tenth anniversary year in 2009 audiences on three continents had the opportunity to hear the trio give inspiring interpretations of the piano trios of Beethoven, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn as well as premières by Canadian composers Marc Hyland, Michel Boivin, Margareta Jeric, Melissa Hui, Jean Lesage, South African composer Robert Fokkens, Benjamin Schweitzer of Germany, and Italian Roberto Rusconi. Since its formation the ensemble has commissioned trios by many of Canada’s finest composers, has premièred a host of international works, and has collaborated with some of the most important composers of our time, including Mauricio Kagel, Jonathan Harvey, George Aperghis, Pascal Dusapin, Henri Pousseur, Mark André and Michael Finnissy. Their concert tours have led them to the Ars Musica, Aldeburgh, Huddersfield and Strasbourg festivals, to Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, China, Japan, to Berlin, Stockholm and New York. Trio Fibonacci has performed for television in Canada, China and Brazil, and their concerts are regularly broadcast on Canadian radio networks.
 <u1:p></u1:p>
In October 2001 the Trio Fibonacci released its first commercial CD. Devoted to the unrecorded chamber music of Jonathan Harvey the disc was produced with the composer in attendance and has received universal critical acclaim. Regarding this CD the British critic Steve Lomas wrote: “The brilliant performance of Gabriel Prynn more than holds its own against that of Pierre Strauch on an Ensemble InterContemporain CD of Harvey’s music.” 2005 saw the release of two new discs: a CD devoted to the music of Denis Bosse with the Cyprès label in Belgium, followed by a CD featuring the unrecorded chamber music of James Clarke, Gerald Barry and Michael Finnissy with NMC in London.
